Scouting is one of the most important activities in Cossacks 3. For the bulk of the game, the world-map is shrouded in a fog of war that is only uncovered as units pass through it.
Strategies[ | ]
- Build barracks, 17th century as soon as possible to start exploring. Build a cheap infantry unit and start scouting out the area near your base. Try to do it comprehensively, to avoid leaving blind spots.
- Identify natural choke points and other terrain features that can help you funnel an attacker and break him up into more manageable chunks.
- Early game raiding of enemy towns can help disrupt supply chains and, if caught unawares, cripple their early game economy.
- Scouts are expendable, so don't worry if one dies. They do it for their King/Sultan/Hetman/Tsar/Bey/<insert own ruler title>!
